Mesothelioma is a rare, aggressive cancer which is usually caused by asbestos exposure. This disease can remain unnoticed and is not detectable for almost 50 years before full manifestation. Around 3,000 to 4,000 mesothelioma and asbestosis cases are diagnosed in the U.S each year.
